Nassau Bar Association Names Bellmore Attorney Scott Stone Pro Bono Attorney of the Month

Long Island Press Releases(Long Island, NY) Attorney Scott Stone of Bellmore is helping low income tenants avoid homelessness. Over the past 2 years through the Volunteer Lawyers Project, he has provided pro bono legal representation to 62 clients facing eviction, to defend or forestall eviction from their homes in the hopes of preserving housing or giving the tenants ample time to secure alternative housing and avoid homelessness or shelters. His level of generosity and constant dedication to the pro bono work has earned him recognition of Nassau County Bar Association President John P. McEntee, who has named him Pro Bono Attorney of the Month for September 2014.

The Nassau County Bar Association partners with the Nassau/Suffolk Law Services Committee to support Volunteer Lawyers Project, which provides pro bono assistance to ensure that low income, disabled and disadvantaged individuals have equal access to the civil justice system on Long Island. Stone’s critical legal service spares the client and their families the trauma and despair of homelessness.

At The Law Offices of Scott Stone PLLC, located in East Rockaway, Scott Stone maintains a general practice, a substantial portion of which involves business transactions and corporate representation, commercial landlord/tenant work (usually landlord representation), real estate and tax certiorari. He also serves as Special Counsel to the City of Glen Cove and the Incorporated Village of Farmingdale for Tax Certiorari. He earned his law degree from Hofstra Law School. He lives with his wife, Elyse, and their two young daughters, Maya and Dana, in Bellmore, New York.
